A medical device client commissioned Easton Associates to identify potential business development opportunities for one of its assets, a proprietary medical device coating technology. EA identified and characterized thirty-one potential device applications for the coating and prioritized them according to opportunity size and relative ease of commercialization. Potential business partners were identified for the optimal applications, and valuation ranges for the coating were estimated under various commercialization scenarios.
